Michael is an AAT Golf Professional and has been a part of the club for nearly 30 years! His knowledge and experience make him a massive asset here at Leatherhead. He’s an approachable and enthusiastic professional golfer dedicated to helping you to succeed.
Here’s Michaels ‘virtual’ hello to everyone:
I have been associated with Leatherhead since joining as a Junior member back in 1992. Having had a successful amateur career, notably winning the Surrey Amateur Strokeplay Championship in 2002 and going onto represent England in the U21 and Men’s teams, I turned professional in 2005 with a plus 4 handicap.
Between 2006 and 2014 I competed in over 300 events around the world on the European Tour, Challenge Tour and all of Europe’s satellite tours. I still enjoy practicing and regularly compete in regional and national PGA events.
Through my own golf I have had the opportunity to work with many of Europe’s leading golf instructors such as Pete Cowen, Dennis Pugh, Jonathan Yarwood, Scott Cranfield and Phil Kenyon amongst others. This has helped me develop my own teaching style and knowledge, whilst learning advanced techniques used by some world class instructors.
My teaching style and approach varies according to the individual and my students range from complete beginners to fellow PGA Professionals.
I am always happy to discuss any thoughts, problems or questions you may have about your game as everyone enjoys the game more when you are playing well!
