A gentle opening hole offering the chance for an opening Par or Birdie. The longer hitter will need to place his ball between the two marker oak trees and avoid fairway bunkers to set up a chance of reaching this green in 2.
The shortest of the par 3s with a long narrow green well protected by bunkers either side. A well struck shot can be helped out by the green contour which helps to send the ball towards the middle of the green.
After the respite offered by the 2 nd , there’s a real challenge waiting at the 3 rd . The tee shot must be placed to the right of the oak dominating the centre of the fairway in order to have a clear second shot in to the narrow green.
The fourth plays as a long par 4 off the yellow tees and requires two well struck shots to reach the green. Caution must be taken to avoid two cross ditches that cross this hole, one just in front of the green.
Hole 5 offers the chance of a birdie, provided you judge the distance over the large cross bunker guarding the green. A ball left short of the flag will leave an easier uphill birdie chance.
A long par 4 requires and accurate tee shot, and the shorter hitter may decide not to take on the deep fairway bunker in two or risks a treacherous third.
A sharp dogleg right where the tee shot must be long enough to pass the single oak tree which sits beside the fairway. A well hit tee shot will leave a short to mid iron into the heart of the green.
This par 5 favours slightly turning to the right. Two fairway bunkers guard the left-hand side off the tee and a tee shot to the right may be blocked out. Fairway bunkers situated along the hole make club section for the second shot crucial.
This well-guarded par 3 makes for a challenging hole. Balls landing short may find their way into one of the two bunkers protecting this undulating green.
After enjoying the peaceful setting of the Pachesham lake to the rear of the 10th tee a strong start to the back 9 awaits. A slight draw tee shot is required to hold a fairway that gently contours to the left. The second shot requires precision to a narrow two-tiered green.
Out of bounds left, right and long! Sensible play will leave a short approach up the hill to a two-tier green. A putt from back of the green will be amongst the fastest on the course.
Leatherhead’s signature hole, which features in Peter Alliss’ top 100 holes, is a picturesque par 3. The tee shot across a ravine must carry up to the green – anything short will kick right where a cavernous bunker awaits.
A lovely short par 4 with a two-tiered green. Most birdies are made by leaving a short pitch from the fairway over a burn that guards the front of the green.
This hole requires 2 straight shots. The tee shot need not be long but hitting the fairway is key to stopping the approach on this hard-fast green.
A long downhill par 3 with the steepest double tiered green where a par is always a welcome result. A tee shot to the centre and widest part of the green is favourable. Avoid going long at all costs, this will result in a very tricky pitch back on to the green.
An excellent par 5 where only the longest hitters will reach this elevated green in two. For most golfers this stunning hole is one of the courses toughest driving holes, with out of bounds on the right and well-guarded by trees down the left.
A short well-placed tee shot is required off the tee to hit this narrow fairway. Hit the fairway and this delightful little hole offers the last clear Birdie chance of the round
A treacherous long par 3 with a green only 12 yards wide and guarded both side by bunkers. Putting a 3 on your scorecard is no easy task on this hole.
